Trials of Chaos
A downloadable game for Windows
Chaos-themed vtuber Hakos Baelz must face a cosmic punishment for oversleeping through her stream, so she's sent to the Heroic Trials Facility, where overworked employees build quests for heroes.
Jump, dodge and battle your way through shoddily conjured maps themed on various interpretations of "chaos" and "disorder", using d6's that can be customized with various effects, collected through the game.
This is an unofficial Hololive Fan game, made following the Fanwork Guidelines as best as I can discern them. Hololive and Hakos Baelz are both IP owned by Cover Corp. Furthermore, all 17 tracks of music used in-game are derived from recent music releases by Hakos Baelz, specifically the Pandemonium EP and Zodiac Album.
Controls:
- D-pad: Movement
- L + D-pad: Look around
- A/B: Jump/Throw dice (can be swapped)
- Start: Pause
- Select: Dice build menu
- R: I-frame dash (when unlocked)
- Double-tap: Run (when unlocked)
- Up: open chests, go through doors, read signs, talk
- Down + jump: drop down from ledges
Note about the options: "Odd Eng" is short for "Odd English" and toggles whether the NPCs with fancier text should use characters that aren't used anymore. "Run Time" is for setting the sensitivity of double-tapping.
For the convenience of anyone who wants to play but doesn't want to grab an emulator, chaos-win.zip has a copy of mGBA with a batch file from running the game. It's a bit awkward though, in that there's no way to remap the controls or change the resolution. The controls are arrow keys, z, x, a, s, enter and space.
